4 Ways to get excited for the holidays
By Amy Wright | Dec 10, 2020
The holidays will likely look a little different for everyone this year. Whether you’re celebrating with your loved ones or you’re keeping it more lowkey this season, there’s still so much to celebrate!
It can be easy to let the current circumstances of the world bring your spirits down. But regardless, it’s important to let your family and friends know that you love them. It doesn’t matter if you’re spending the holidays with them or celebrating from a distance, there are still many things you can do to spread the holiday cheer.
1. Bake holiday treats
With the colder temperatures keeping us indoors now more than ever, it’s the perfect time to test out your baking skills!
This is the best time of year to dust off your electric mixer, throw on that apron that never gets worn, and bust out those oven mitts. With so many free Christmas inspired recipes available online there’s a little something for everyone.
2. Get crafty and make the gifts you’re giving your loved ones
This is a great way to save money and show someone how much you care. A gift from the heart is always appreciated by the person receiving it.
Tailor the goodies you make to the person you’re gifting it to. Does your best friend love trying out new beauty products? Make them a coffee scrub or bath bomb. Does your mom love looking at all of the photos she had developed 20 years ago? Put those photos into a beautiful collage print or scrapbook. The crafting options are endless and you can gift something handcrafted to everyone on your list.
3. Partake in holiday-esque activities
‘Tis the season for holiday and winter-themed activities! Get outside and get active (only when it’s safe to do so) by going skating or skiing. Get festive with outdoor Christmas markets, tree lightings, and other initiatives your town may be partaking in. Thanks to the internet, it’s easy to see what exciting things will be happening in your area!
Capture the tree decorating, snowball fights, and time off during the holidays by taking photos. Then turn those photos into high-quality wall art that you will cherish forever.
4. Send your friends and family a truly meaningful gift
Get personal with the gifts you give this year. You know your loved ones and you know what their favorite memories are (you may even be a part of them!). Now take those memories and turn them into meaningful wall art!
Choose between canvas, framed, collage, triptych, and pet portraits to get them something they will truly love. Whether it’s a photo from their wedding, a portrait of their furry friend, or cute photo of the kids, you will hit the nail on the head with a gift like this, every time.
