5 Tips for Photographing Your Kids
By Amy Wright | Jun 18, 2020
If you’re like every other parent out there, you probably have hundreds, if not thousands of photos of your little ones on your camera roll. But now is the time to step up your photography game and start snapping photos that are worthy of being hung up on your walls!
We’ve put together our top 5 tips for taking pictures of your kids so that you won’t have any issue choosing which photo to have printed on canvas or framed.
1. Make sure all eyes are on them
When taking pictures of your little ones, you’ll want to make sure they’re the main focus in the photo. But that doesn’t mean they have to be front and center in the shot. Following the rule of thirds is a great way to add some interest to your photo.
2. Candid is always best
Catch your kids when they’re showing off their most genuine smiles! We recommend pulling out your camera while they’re playing and laughing, so make sure your camera is ready when you take the kiddos to the park.
3. Natural lighting is a photography must
If you’ve done any sort of photography research, then you’ve likely heard that natural lighting is best! That’s because it casts natural looking shadows and showcases the brightest colors. Just another reason to bring your kids to the park!
4. Don’t overdo it with the filters
We know how easy it is to go overboard with filters. With so many options and effects to choose from it can be hard not to. But don’t forget, your kids don’t need filters! Show off the sparkle in their eye by keeping the photo as natural looking as possible.
5. Print the photos to make them last forever
Once you’ve captured the perfect photo, it’s time to have it printed! Whether you want it printed on canvas or framed, we have the perfect option for you. Can’t decide on just one photo? We also offer photo collages that allow you to showcase up to 24 photos at once.
